Summary/Objective: The RITC Lab Engineer is required to fully test the RF product or RF system to ensure it functions properly and meets the test case and business needs. The job responsibilities include: Setting up of test environments, designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing the various cases as described in Job functions.

  Essential Functions:

  • Software Installation and backout
  • Regression Testing
  • Feature Activation and backout
  • New Feature Testing
  • Software Fix Verification
  • Operations, Administration & Maintenance of the lab
  • Performance Monitoring of the Test Sites
  • Troubleshooting of software anomalies and performance issues
  • Document test results
  • Troubleshooting of issues encountered during testing, collection of logs/traces, configuration files and analysis
  • Create daily alarm reports for customer specified markets consisting of respective clusters around 200 sites LTE FDD/TDD
  • Follow up above alarms list to Sprint to clear the alarms
  • Learning XCAP to process raw data that collected with XCAL for FIT purpose LTE features like carrier aggregation CA
  • Identify and analyze degraded sites within cell clusters
  • Pinpoint specific KPI with specific degradation
  • Pull necessary data from performance monitoring applications
  • Produce output (charts, graphs, spreadsheets, etc.) to show specific time/date points of issues
  • Recommend specific corrective actions to resolve specific issues with sites
  • Attend customer calls for future activities related to cell performance.
  • Site Monitoring and KPI monitoring
  • Creating KPI Reports and Root Cause Analysis
  • Attend activities of upgrade during Maintenance window, if required

Other Functions:

  • Create PRTS report as per end customer request for OEMs viz. Ericsson and Spider cloud
  • Attend Daily FIT LTE release 19/19A internal Nokia also Sprint meeting
  • Giving knowledge sharing about PRTS tool as Sprint KPI tool to Nokia engineer
  • Report generation for presentation to customers
  • Take on specific request to assist customers
  • Work with peers to synchronize technical support activities
  • Discuss with customer any foreseeable activities requiring additional assistance
  • Login into NETACT and pull data and send the reports
  • Attend activities of upgrade during Maintenance window
  • Exercise strong analytical skills to debug, and resolve complex software problems

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

  • Work will be performed in customer office or on travel
  • Extensive and intricate work with a computer to resolve complex network issues
  • Extensive use of computerized software tools and programs, scripting and de-bugging
  • Travelling 50 % may be required in case of field-based RF analysis works.

Education/Experience and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering with experience in Telecommunication industry, or, minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunications systems testing and troubleshooting
  • Experienced in Software Installation and backout, Regression Testing,Feature Activation and backout, New Feature Testing and Software Fix Verification
  • Operations, Administration & Maintenance of the lab
  • Performance Monitoring of the Test Sites
  • Strong RAN experience, familiarity with eNodeB and GNodeB.
  • Nokia Air scale knowledge
  • Alarms NetAct handling
  • XCAP raw data processing
  • PRTS experience
  • Certification viz (Network Certified Associate; NCA) on 4G/LTE/5G optimization
  • Awareness about Research current trends in latest technologies for competency
  • Strong teamwork, good communication and documentation skills;
  • Good inter-personal skills required
  • Teaming with other customer service delivery teams is necessary
  • Availability for shift work and weekend on call activity is required
  • Strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Result oriented with the focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Team player, open communication and ability to work in an international team with Excellent Communication skills.
