We are currently looking for RITC Technician for our Dallas, Texas Headquarters.
As a RITC Technician, you will work in the Nokia Remote Integration Test Center (RITC). Responsibilities include working in a 24 X 7 environment in the operations control center; providing support deployment and Integration functions.
Summary/Objective: This position is responsible for monitoring the customer equipment in
a CDMA and LTE based wireless telecommunications network. The Remote Integration Test
Center (RITC) Technician will open tickets in response to alarms and perform basic
troubleshooting procedures before escalating to Tier 2 for problem resolution. This position
requires a basic knowledge of both telecommunications and IP networking. Knowledge of and
experience with CDMA, UMTS and LTE telecommunications interfaces will also be helpful.
The NOC Analysts will work in a demanding Network Operations Center (NOC) environment
and must be confident in their technical and inter-personal skills.
RITC office performs 4G LTE to 5G LTE migrations for a major service provider. The Tier 1
Technicians are responsible for the following:
Remote log-in to the customer sites to perform pre-checks and health checks on 4G
LTE sites in preparation for migrations.
Receive calls from the Field Technicians who are visiting the sites physically to
change hardware, change cabling and load software.
When calls are received, the Tier 1 Tech shuts down the site remotely
The Field Tech performs the physical cut-over and calls back
The tier 1 tech brings the site back up and performs post checks.
During above steps if any alarms or other difficulties are encountered, troubleshoot
and resolve the issue.
Detect and respond to alarms, open tickets, assist with troubleshooting as required
Initiate appropriate corrective action before escalation to Tier 2 for resolution
Troubleshoot network components and support to field engineers as required
Will participate in trouble ticket escalations and fault isolation conference bridges
Coordinate with Customer and confirm site firmware and data loads
Contribute to a daily activity report and support troubleshooting activities as required
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Work will be performed in a NOC environment; typical graveyard shifts
Standard schedule will include shift work, weekends and holidays; maintenance
window support is also required.
Work will be performed in an Operations Control Center with cold air conditioning and
a moderate background noise environment
Function well in a fast paced work environment to steadily execute basic troubleshooting
Extensive use of computerized software tools and programs
Prolonged sitting in an office chair
Education/Experience and Competencies:
AA in networks (or similar) or BSCS is desired
CCNA desired; commensurate experience accepted
1 to 2 years’ experience with IP Networks, CDMA, UMTS, WiMAX and LTE is desired
Demonstrate a knowledge of routers, switches and LTE network elements
Excellent communicator with great skills in managing customer expectations
Able to work independently, self-motivated/guided with attention to detail
